High Prairie School Division has appointed John Wiedrick as assistant superintendent of human resources starting in August.
He has been a principal with Holy Family Catholic Regional Division for the past eight years and a vice-principal for two years prior to that.
With a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Alberta, Wiedrick is also author of an iTunes University course, The Future of the Principalship.
He will succeed Brenda Stafford who will be retiring this fall after 34 years with HPSD.
She began teaching in 1982 at High Prairie Elementary School and after more than 20 years in the classroom, five years as a divisional mentor coach, and one year as a supervisor of instruction, she moved into the role of the human resources role in 2009.
