From its booth at the SARDA Trade Show from March 14 to 16, Vision Credit Union held a fundraiser on behalf of Donnelly Recreation Society.
For a toonie donation, people had a chance to play a game of plinko to win VCU merchandise. Over the three days of the Trade Show, the initiative raised $520.
Vision’s Falher branch made a staff donation of $180.00 and Vision Credit Union provided a Corporate Donation of $500.00.
Branch manager Helene Chalifoux and Vision Credit Union staff, along with Donnelly Recreation Society Board Members Aubrey Stenhouse, Jenny Stenhouse, Pauline Therriault and Lise Poirier, gathered at the VCU Branch on Main Street Falher for the presentation of the $1,200 cheque to the Recreation Society.
Donnelly Recreation Society is putting the funds towards a “Bouncing Pillow”, the next feature to be added to Regalo Park’s playground, possibly in the spring.
The Bouncing Pillow is a large, inflatable trampoline-like structure on which both children and adults can jump and exercise, but the bouncing pillow is considered to be considerably safer than the conventional trampoline.
“Vision Credit Union would like to thank all that played and made donations,” says Helene Chalifoux. “ Another great fundraiser by Vision Credit Union giving back to our local communities.”
