One of the jewels in the crown of the recent parking lot upgrade of McLennan Home Hardware Building Centre and Highway 2 Gas Station is the installation of the new Home Hardware LED sign, featuring an electronic TV monitor messaging board.
The sign was shipped from Ontario to McLennan and a crew came out from Grande Prairie on November 1 to do the installation.
November 1 happened to be the coldest day so far this season with snow and wind, making the installation a little more challenging.
However, the crew appeared to have the job in hand, placing each tier of the sign methodically and with precision, working into the late afternoon.
The hooking up of the sign is schedule to happen shortly and with the installation of a number of security cameras, the paving and upgrades to the McLennan Home Hardware Centre and Highway 2 Gas Bar site will be complete.
Highway 2 Gas Bar already has pay at the pump service but when the project is complete with the installation of video surveillance, 911-phone access and a tank monitoring system, 24-hour access at the pumps will be available.
