The designated Universal Children’s Day was celebrated at Routhier School in Falher from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday November 20.
Unfortunately, this year, November 20 fell on a Professional Development Day when students were off school and consequently there were fewer children than usual at the event.
However, the parents and children who did attend certainly enjoyed the event at which hotdogs and refreshments were served and about ten members of McLennan’s Victory Life Church youth group also showed up to generally interact with the kids and work on crafts such as clay modeling.
The Prairie Parent Link was also present at the Routhier School event, which was funded by the Children’s Resource Council, High Prairie.
The United Nations’, Universal Children’s Day, established in 1954, celebrates November 20 each year to raise awareness and encourage solidarity among children and also works to promote and improve the welfare of children worldwide.
