During the morning of June 6, Smoky River Fire and Rescue, as well as the RCMP, EMS and STARS, responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of First Street East and Second Avenue South in Falher.
A GMC Sierra pickup and a Dodge Grand Caravan collided, leaving several people injured.
One person was transported by STARS to Grande Prairie for treatment. Two people were transported by ambulance, and one person was transported by a family member, to the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre in McLennan.
As per an RCMP news release, the driver of the pickup was heading westbound on Second Avenue South. The driver of the van was heading northbound on First Street East and entered the intersection, colliding with the truck.
The two vehicles ended up near the northwest corner by a residence. A retaining wall and a street sign were damaged during the collision.
The RCMP has laid charges against the driver of the van for failing to yield to the other vehicle that was already entering the intersection or roadway.
