From racing on scooters backwards to jumping into a sand pit, the students at Ecole Routhier had fun during their two days of track-and-field activities.

Students in Grades 4-6 had their track-and-field on June 5, and those in Grade 1-3 had theirs the next day. Other activities included hurdles, sack races, skipping, the bean bag toss and the javelin (for older students).

“It went really well,” says organizer Aryn McFaddin. “The kids had a lot of fun.”

The Grade 5 students assisted with the meet for the Grades 1-3, while parents and high school students helped with the other.

Ribbons were handed out for first to fourth place, in each category of competition. Gold, silver and bronze were awarded to each group, as was a sportsmanship award.
