The annual slow pitch tournament was held at the ball diamonds in Donnelly and Falher during the Honey Festival weekend of June 15-17.
Some games were played late at night, and flood lights were used for them.
The teams to play in the championship game were Steve’s Search Party and the Honey Badgers.
They played their game at the Falher ball diamonds in the afternoon of June 17
Steve’s Search Party won 14-13 and received $800 for first place, while the Honey Badgers received $400 for second.
Jason Bouchard, the tournament organizer, is pleased with the outcome.
“The event went well,” says Bouchard. “It was a great success.”
Twenty teams participated in the tournament, with one team come from the Edmonton area, and others from around the Peace Country.
They were divided into four pools and played round robin games in the lead up to the championship game on June 17.
