Tkachyk named new Kinuso principal

High Prairie School Division has appointed Leon Tkachyk as the new principal of Kinuso School.

He has more than 29 years of experience as an educator inclusive of his time overseas, where he taught abroad in Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Hong Kong for the past 11 years.

Tkachyk served for three years in British Columbia as principal of a school that covered from kindergarten to Grade 12.

He has taught in eight different countries in private, public, and federal educational systems.

His extensive and varied experience has shaped his current leadership capabilities as a teacher and administrator.

Tkachyk has a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University, and is a doctoral candidate at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
