Approximately 180 people attended the Step into Spring Fashion Show fundraiser held at Ecole Providence Gym on Sunday March 6.

The show, sponsored by the Catholic Women’s League and St. John the Baptist Parish was to raise money to fix the front steps of St. John the Baptist Cathedral and for general church maintenance.

The event had eight local vendors and an elaborate fashion show presented by Du North Designs with the setup arrangement and décor designed by local team Helene Hausler and Claire Cloutier of Ritz it Up.

Thirty-four models participated in the show representing a broad spectrum in age and demonstrating both winter and spring apparel. During the intermission between the showings of each line, coffee, juice and a wide variety of baked goods were served.

Marion Lessard emceed the show, giving a fluid, animated summary of the various fashion ensembles.

The models who volunteered their time ranged in age from an infant to 92-year-old Mrs. Brassard who certainly appeared to be enjoying the limelight.

The Step into Spring fashion show is indeed the first step in raising money towards fixing the steps as donations towards the work are still being accepted.
