The Gazebo in Falher was the scene of a very special event in the evening of Dec. 21, 2017.

A live Nativity Scene was held there, courtesy of the efforts of Eric Verstappen and the staff at The Co-operators.

“This isi the first thing we wanted to (host),” says Verstappen. “We got a lot of help, which makes it easier. We are grateful for all the help we received.”

Rachel Nairn and Henco Smit portrayed Mary and Joseph. Tony Smit narrated the event and the Northern Lights Choir sang songs such as ‘Silent Night’.

Serene Nairn, Anya Smit and Adelle Levesque played the Angels. Roger Mackell, Nicolas Levesque and Daniel Levesque played the shepherds. Jalil Levesque, Samuel Levesque and Adrian Smit played the Three Wise Men.

Over 100 people attended this holiest of events for Christians.

Verstappen provided the donkey and lambs for the event.

Smoky River Family Community Support Services was on hand to accept donations, and Director Lynn Florence passed out Teddy Bears to children and families.

Diane Gervais provided the costumes through the Ste. Anne Paroisse and Ecole Routhier.
