St. John the Baptist Parish held its annual Christmas turkey and tourtiere supper on Sunday, December 2.

Unfortunately, the parish priest Fr. Eucharius was not present as he was on vacation visiting family in Calgary and not due to return until the following week.

However, Fr. Louis, who celebrated Sunday Mass earlier in the day did attended the event.

Parish volunteers put a lot of preparation into cooking the excellent turkey and tourtiere along with all the trimmings and desserts for approximately two-hundred people.

The event was very well organized and the children, youth and adults had a relaxed, fun time .

Following supper, Santa Claus arrived, to the delight of the kids who lined up to sit on his knee and tell him what is on their wish list.

When finished talking to Santa, each child received a goodie bag with some small toys to keep them going until Christmas morning.

The fundraiser event also included a bake sale, and wide variety of donated items for the raffle.

The 50/50 draw offered an impressive payout of just over $600.

As usual, the event was a wonderful social occasion with parish and community members having an opportunity to relax, converse, and enjoy an excellent turkey, tourtiere and dessert supper.
