Smoky River Fire and Rescue answered 17 calls for service in July.
“We had a hectic month, from industrial calls, to vehicle, medical and false alarms,” says Fire Chief Marcel Maure.
The service calls are broken down as follows:
. Five medical calls.
. Four monitored alarms.
. One STARS landing.
. Three outdoor fires.
. Two strange odors.
. Two motor vehicle collisions on the highway.
Smoky River Fire and Rescue has 42 members and many of them came out for practice on Wednesday nights in July.
The fire chief would like to remind the public that if you have a controlled burn in a non-permit area, to notify him immediately. The fire department has responded to a few controlled burns.
