Members of Smoky River Family and Community Support Services and the local office of Farm Credit Canada were on hand outside the Falher IGA on Oct. 2 to host a barbecue and collect food and other items for the needy.
They sold hamburgers for $5 each, or two hot dogs for $5, and each included a soft drink. The money they collected will go towards the FCSS’s ‘Drive Away Hunger’ campaign.
They also accepted food donations, and the FCSS’s van filled quickly with food and other items. If you would still like to make a donation, call (780) 837-2220.
