In less than two weeks, the classes for the Smoky River Dance Society will be demonstrating what they’ve learned so far.

They’ve been practicing for Christmas performances at the Villa Beausejour in Falher, which will be held on Dec. 5, and at the Manoir du Lac in McLennan on Dec. 7.

“We learn new moves and tricks,” says dance instructor Brogan Severson, “but mostly teamwork.”

Approximately 50 children are enrolled with the Smoky River Dance Society. Most of them do one hour per week in dance class, although some do up to five hours.

Besides their Christmas performances, the children will go to Westlock on April 7 and 8 as well as Grande Prairie during April 25-29 for festivals.
