Smoky River Gymnastics has a new head coach and a new assistant coach, Nadia Johnson and Stephanie Soucy respectively, and president Denise St. Laurent is pleased they are on board.
“We welcome Nadia and Stephanie as our new head coach and assistant coach,” says St. Laurent.
Soucy is a certified Level II coach and, besides being involved in gymnastics, her previous experience includes being a soccer coach, swimming coach and a snowboard instructor. She wants to bring new techniques and games to her up-and-coming gymnists.
“I want to show them the passion I had as a gymnast,” says Soucy.
She also hopes each child gets enjoyment out fo the program, as well as an appreciation for the importance of health and fitness.
The junior coaches consist of Chantal Laflamme, Shanele Morin and Sam Russett.
The season started Oct. 13 and goes until the end of March 2016. Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday nights in the main gym at Ecole Routhier in Falher.
