SPORTS – Harvest tournament held at Smoky Lanes Bowling

by Mac Olsen

It was the first year for a harvest tournament at Smoky Lanes Bowling, but the alley was a busy place on Nov. 14.
“We want to encourage the public to use the facilities,” says manager Diane Dentinger.
“We want to hold a tournament once a month.”
Five teams, with four members each, competed in the tournament.
The registration fee was $200 per team.
Each team played three games in the round robin. It came down to ‘Money’s Worth’ and ‘Killer’s Team’ for the championship game.
‘Money’s Worth’ – consisting of Curtis Hansen, Ryan Roy, Kelly Roy and Ryan Hoff – took first place and the top prize of $200.
‘Killer’s Team’ – consisting of Richard Veraart, Denis Dentinger, Micheline Veraart and Killer Girard – took second place and received $100.
This was the tournament for November. There will be no tournament in December, adds Dentinger, due to Christmas events.
However, she encourages the public to contact her about future tournaments.
She can be contacted at (780) 323-4244 to leave a message.
