The Honey Festival committee is looking for a sponsor for this Friday’s barbecue.
This is one of the issues that the committee discussed during their meeting at the Falher Regional Recreation Complex on June 7.
Kristina Nolette is the contact person for this item.
She can be reached at (780) 837-6949 for the sponsorship or more information.
The committee also heard that there are 12 teams for the slow pitch tournament.
However, more teams can register prior to the Honey Festival.
Again, contact Nolette for more information or to register.
Smoky River Minor Ball is the organizer for this tournament.
A five km and 10 km run/walk will be held, as will a 1.8 km walk.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. on June 18, and the event begins at 9 a.m.
Renelle Blanchette will host a yoga session prior to the event.
Al Singer is the organizer of the event. He can be reached at (780) 507-2499, or contact him via email at email@example.com.
All proceeds will go to humanitarian relief efforts in Fort McMurray.
The committee is working to recruit two groups of volunteers to provide security in the FRRC during the evenings of June 17 & 18.
This will be for the beer garden and concert in the curling rink both nights. No other details were available at press time.
The committee encourages the public to go to the Honey Festival’s Facebook page, to “like” it and share with others. The more, the better, says the committee.
The entire list of activities for the three-day event are in this week’s Smoky River Express.
Check it for events like the parade in the evening of June 17, the children’s and family activities on June 18 and Zorb balls that will be at the Falher Regional Recreation Complex on June 17 & 18.
