The weather was fair and mild, making it ideal for a little poker fun out in the countryside.
The first annual snowmobile poker rally was held in Girouxville on March 17.
“The riders really enjoyed it,” says Diane Dentinger, one of the organizers. “The weather was a big help.”
Snowmobilers, 169 in total, converged at the Girouxville community hall that morning for registration and to purchase their hands of poker. All told, they purchased 286 hands of poker.
Then they took off in various directions throughout the region to find other cards on marked trails.
The winners of the poker rally were:
1. Bruce Rosenburger.
2. Ben Gardecki.
3. Kyle Labbe.
This event was a fundraiser for Smoky Lanes Bowling in Girouxville and Dentinger hopes that it will be held annually.
