Smoky Lanes Bowling in Girouxville was a busy place during Jan. 12-13, as the Bowling for a Cure cancer fundraiser tournament was held.

Ten teams of four players participated in this tournament and the proceeds will go to Haying in the 30s.

“So many people in the region are affected by cancer,” says organizer Diane Dentinger.

The total amount of money raised was not known at press time.

A silent auction was held as part of the tournament.

There were prizes for the first and second place teams:

1. Gerald Valiquette, Terry Valiquette, Rollie Valiquette and Lil Trudeau.

2. Killer Girard, Ron Trudeau, Micheline Veraart and Richard Veraart.
