Alberta Senator Doug Black established the Senator’s Contribution Awards, which are presented to two individuals in every community big and small throughout Alberta.

Senator Black places great importance in acknowledging the contribution that many people make in their communities across the province.

The Village of Donnelly Council nominated both Rene Rouleau and Pauline Therriault and both individuals received their awards earlier this year.

Therriault is the president of Donnelly Recreation Society and in that capacity has worked towards the development of the village’s Park Regalo, which is constantly being enhanced such as the installation last April of the pumptrack.

Donnelly Recreation Society opened Park Regalo in 2010 and over time, the society established resources through fundraiser events at the park and with $10,000 a donation from Richardson Pioneer to continue developing the park and enhance the community.

I am very, very, grateful for the recognition,” says Therriault.
