McLennan council continues to meet in chambers but with rising COVID concerns, CAO Lorraine Willier asked council if they wanted to meet by Zoom or teleconferencing.
Councillor Dwayne Stout noted there “was nothing saying they can’t come” to the meeting in chambers.
The only problem is, only one delegation can enter chambers at a time. Others would have to wait outside and be called inside. Doors leading to other rooms in the building can be opened allowing waiting delegations to watch and hear.
Chambers are about 384-square feet in size and can accommodate 15 people. With a full council, staff and media, the number inside is already nine.
Willier was directed to find out costs of teleconferencing and report back to council.
