The main gym at Ecole Routhier was filled almost to capacity during the evening of December 17, as families and grandparents came to see the French students and their teachers offer a traditional Christmas gala affair.

Vice-Principal Melissa Portelance welcomed everyone, and she emphasized the hard work the teachers and students put into the concert.

Donna Seier’s Kindergarten class opened the event with ‘Quand le Pere Noel’.

Next, Patsy Cloutier’s Grade 1F class offered ‘Super Pere Noel’, dancing to the song and snapping their fingers to the beat. Krystin Morin’s Grade 2F class sang ‘Dans nos petitis souliers’.

Afterwards, Jenny St. Jean’s Grade 3F class performed ‘Un Noel de Reve’. Each student used a microphone to make a statement about Christmas.

Then, Elise Turcotte’s Grade 4F class sang ‘Noel c’est L’Amour’.

Joel Pelletier’s Grade 5/6F class entertained the audience with a video entitled ‘Quand le Pere Noel’, followed by a live action event.

The video depicted the students at the teacher’s door, trying to engage him in the spirit of Christmas, but to no avail.

In the live action event on stage, he continued his grumpy demeanor and then he ran off stage and they were chasing behind him.

For the finale, all the teachers and students gathered on stage to sing ‘Glory, Glory, Allelujah’ and ‘Feliz Navidad’.
