Slave Lake, AB – Two members of the Slave Lake Detachment were slightly injured after making an arrest of an intoxicated male on August 27, 2016. RCMP had responded to a report of an unknown male allegedly passed out on the ground between to local residences. During police efforts to assist the man, he became enraged and started threatening to kill police. The man was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. As the male was being lodged in a cell, he became aggressive with police and attempted to strike them and a struggle ensued. The incident lasted several minutes and police were able to gain control of the man. A 47 year old High Prairie man has been charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a police office and uttering threats. The man remains in custody, with a first appearance scheduled for August 31, 2016 at Slave Lake Provincial Court.
