In the early morning hours of July 9, Peace Regional RCMP intercepted individuals in the area of Range Road 244, north of Highway 685, on the south side of Lac Cardinal near Grimshaw, Alberta.
They were transporting a large quantity of varying gauges of copper wire that police suspect to have been stolen. Police are seeking the assistance of the public in determining the source of the recovered wire (see photo), and are requesting that business owners check their outbuildings and properties in the area of the incident for indications of forced entry and/or theft.
As a result of the preliminary investigation, Trevor Dean FISHER, 29 years old of Fairview, Alberta, has been charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm and is scheduled to appear in Peace River provincial court on Monday, October 1st, 2018, on this matter. Additional charges may be laid, pending the outcome of the on-going investigation.
