Police seek assistance regarding a break-and-enter, vehicle damage

On Oct. 24, the McLennan RCMP Detachment was advised of a break-and-enter to one of the sheds at SARDA in Falher.

Three gasoline cans were stolen from the shed and a grey Ford F-250 in the yard was damaged.

Also on Oct. 24, the RCMP was advised of mischief to a white Chevrolet GMT-400 parked near Guy. The vehicle was damaged and numerous items were stolen. The matter is still under investigation.

On Oct. 28, the RCMP was advised of a theft of a trailer near Girouxville. The trailer, a white Jayco Flight, was recovered the following day near the area of Whitemud Creek. The Peace River Forensic Identification Section has examined the trailer.

The RCMP would like to remind the public to report suspicious activity to the nearest RCMP detachment or other police agency.

Please ensure to lock and secure your vehicles, homes and businesses in an effort to deter thefts and/or vandalism. Please ensure when vehicles are left unattended, the vehicles are locked and the keys to the ignition are removed.

Please ensure storage sheds, garages and outbuildings are locked and secured at all times. If you are going to be away from your home, please ensure someone is checking on the residence. The addition of motion sensor lights will also help to deter property thefts.

The RCMP will continue to patrol the local communities in an effort to increase public safety and deter property theft.
