
The McLennan Royal Canadian Legion held its annual Remembrance Day service Nov. 11 at the Elks Hall. The highlight of the service was the laying of a wreath on behalf of the Legion by Second World War veteran Paul Emile Maisonneuve, 101. The High Prairie Royal Air Cadet Squadron provided the colour guard. After the service, a parade was held outside.
McLennan Legion president, Dave Champion lays a wreath at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall cenotaph. Providing the colours are High Prairie Air Cadets. Todd Loewen, MLA for the riding of Central Peace-Notley, attended the celebration. Following the ceremony at the Elks Hall, the parade proceeded to the McLennan Royal Canadian Legion Hall for the laying of the wreath at the cenotaph.
