Today (Nov. 4), Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta MLA Prab Gill endorsed Jason Kenney’s bid for leader of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta, and to unite free-enterprise Albertans before the 2019 General Election.

Gill is the second sitting PC MLA to endorse Kenney’s bid for leader of the PCAA, following the endorsement of Calgary West MLA, Mike Ellis, in September.

“Since being elected last year, my constituents have expressed overwhelming concern about the direction this province is headed under the NDP government. I approached his candidacy with an open mind, and I must say that his vision to unite Albertans has resonated with my constituents. They want to stop the vote splitting that resulted in this NDP government, which continues to attack small business with disastrous policies, and they want conservatives to get their act together before the next election,” said Gill.

Gill was elected in a by-election in the spring of 2016 to fill the seat in Calgary-Greenway left vacant by the untimely death of Manmeet Bhullar.

In that by-election, vote splitting between PC and Wildrose supporters continued, which risked a potential Liberal or NDP victory.
