With the Internet and social media so prominent, it’s important for businesses to develop an online presence so that customers can find you.
This is the message that Krystina Dubrule, owner of Du North Social Media & Online Marketing, offered to guests at the Small Business Week event, held at the Girouxville community hall in the evening of Oct. 17.
“If you don’t have an online presence, no one’s going to be able to find you,” she says. “Everybody’s online.”
Having a website or social media allows you to collect demographic information, she adds.
Dubrule had guests try and find a plumber online. She divided them into several groups, and each tried to use a different online tool for the search. Approximately 25 people attended the event.
Small Business Week was held across Canada during the week of Oct. 15-21.
This year’s theme is “Future-proof your business: Adapting to technology and demographic trends.”
