August 5, 1930
– November 17, 2016
It is with heavy hearts the family of Real J. Paradis announce his passing on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the age of 86 years, in McLennan, Alberta.
Real was born on August 5, 1930 in McLennan. With the exception of a few years lived in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, McLennan was his home. He married Marie-Jeanne Richer, on June 26, 1951 and on June 26, 2016, Real and Marie-Jeanne celebrated their 65th anniversary in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral, the place they had made their wedding vows 65 years ago.
After retiring from the railroad in 1990, Real found more time to enjoy his hobbies; golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards at the Club. He even became an avid carpet bowler. He was involved with many local organizations including the Smoky River Golf Course Association, the Golden Age Club and the McLennan Legion Branch #153.
Dad`s greatest joy was his family. He always had time for all that stopped by and many an afternoon or evening was spent sitting out on the porch visiting or just listening to him whistle a quiet tune.
Remembered for his love of music, his wonderful sense of humour and how he loved to tease. Dad could always make you smile.
Real will remain forever in the hearts of his loving wife of 65 years, Marie-Jeanne, his children, Lise (Albert) Mikulecky, Celine Paradis, Paul (Debbie) Paradis, Diane (Richard) Deslauriers, Doris (Ted) Wylie, Alice (Dan) Dumont, his 16 grandchildren and his 20 great grandchildren.
Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Roger (Florence), Lucien (Ida), Andre (Corinne) his sisters Rita (Doran) Lavergne, Theresa (Ross) Howden, Jeanette (Ed) Schatschneider, Annette (Morley) Moonen, his sisters in law, Muriel St. Louis, Julie Làbbe, Francoise Cooke and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Real was predeceased by his parents, Emery and Dolores Paradis, his brother Donald and his sister Marie.
