Pauline Jacqueline Labbe, a longtime resident of Falher, AB passed away on March 18, 2021 at Sacred Heart Health Centre in McLennan, AB, at the age of 92 years.

Pauline was born on Feb. 12, 1929, in Girouxville, AB in the family home. She was the daughter of Davilda and Irène [Lefebvre] Papineau.

On Oct. 28, 1946, she married Paul Labbé of Falher.

Pauline worked several jobs, but her main interest was being a housewife. She was devoted, loving, patient, and the best mom ever.

She enjoyed working 33 years for the Ruel family. She was a chambermaid, at the Falher Hotel, and she did a variety of jobs for them, as their business expanded. This included cleaning, and mostly painting the apartments, etc. She was greatly appreciated by the Ruel family for her dedication and the pride she took in her work. She was a perfectionist, and always said, “If you are going to do something, you might as well do it right the first time.”

Pauline enjoyed playing golf with her husband and all of her family. She was especially touched when her son, Clément, bought her a complete set of golf clubs with the bag.

Some of her hobbies included: sewing, liquid embroidery, designing some of her own embroidery patterns, painting ladybugs, bees, and frogs on rocks. Later in life, she enjoyed being part of the Club Alouette’s Carpet Bowling team. She even participated in the Seniors Olympic Provincial Games in Lethbridge.

She loved the outdoors, and all it had to offer: sounds of the birds, little squirrels, and ducks. She even raised a moose, when she was 14 years old.

Everyone who knew Pauline, could tell you she was a very generous, kind-hearted person, always cheerful, smiling, and willing to offer a helping hand to anyone. She also offered her home, if someone needed a place to stay.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul; daughter Irène; son Clément; and all of her siblings, Thérèse, Gérard, Marcel, Roger, and Albert.

She is survived by her children Denis [Karen], Carmen [Rick], and Denise [Ron]. She is also survived by Theresa [Gribbon] Labbé and Jean-Pierre Théberge.

A funeral service for the late Pauline J. Labbé, was held on March 27, 2021, from the Ste-Anne Catholic Church in Falher, with Monsignor Charles Lavoie, and Deacon Reginald Bouchard.
