Jeannine Barrette passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 76, on October 28, 2016, in Keremeos, British Columbia.
Jeannine was born in Tangent, Alberta, to Leo and Yvonne Langlois. In 1958, she married Lionel Barrette and they had one daughter.
They farmed in Tangent until 1974 and then moved to the Okanagan, where they enjoyed warmer climates. In recent years, they spent most winters in the Okanagan and Mexico, and summers in Alberta.
Jeannine welcomed everyone with her smile and gentle ways. She loved humour and a good game of cards. She enjoyed camping and travelling. She believed life was about making memories and being kind to others while on this plane.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lionel; daughter, Diane; son-in-law Richard; and grandsons, Patrick and Roger. Siblings, Rene Langlois (Mary), Vivienne Carbone, Roger Langois (Laverne) and Doris Langois (Bill); nieces, nephews and friends.
Jeannine is predeceased by her parents, Leo and Yvonne Langois, and sister Leona.
In respect to Jeannine’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Cremation with private family gathering at a later date.
