It is with great sadness for the family of Dale (Blackie) Stenhouse to announce, he passed away on Sept. 1, 2016 at the age of 55.
Since the age of 15, Blackie worked as a heavy equipment operator. He spent many of his winters working away in camp jobs and did various jobs for farmers and in the oil field.
Blackie enjoyed family time. On weekends, he looked forward to quadding with family and friends, and watching the Toronto Blue Jays games. In the evenings, after a long day of work, Blackie always looked forward to going home to his fur babies (puppies). Blackie also loved bugging everyone he would run into, up town or at work.
When it came to Blackie, everyone has a love/hate relationship with him. They hated that they loved him. When he would walk into a room, he made sure people knew of his presence. He had a way of leaving you with a smile after he would say a wise-guy comment to make you laugh.
Blackie is survived by his children, Delanie Stenhouse (Falher, Alberta) and Devon (Lannah) Stenhouse (Dawson Creek, B.C.); siblings, Lester Stenhouse (Falher, Alberta), Curly (Suzzette) Stenhouse (Donnelly, Alberta), Darrel Stenhouse (Donnelly, Alberta), Wayne (Carol) Stenhouse (McLennan, Alberta) and Terry-Lynn (Hughie Boots) Stenhouse (Wildwood, Alberta), as well as many nieces and nephews. Blackie was predeceased by Marge (Chabot) Stenhouse and Robert (Bob) Stenhouse.
