Cecile Marie Louise (Blanchet) Dumont passed away in McLennan, Alberta on November 9, 2015 at the age of 85.
Cecile was the eldest daughter of Marius and Therese Blanchet. She was born and raised in Falher.
She met and married Louis Dumont of Whitemud Creek. Together, they raised five children on the farm in Whitemud Creek. They retired in 1979 and moved to Falher.
She is survived by her loving husband, Louis of 63 years; Gilbert, Roger, Richard (Valerie) and their children, Tyler and Sara, Paulette (Edward McLain) and Eugene. She is also survived by her siblings, Marie (Gaston Mencke), Gabrielle (Edmond Dechief), Norbert, Martin (Karen) and Angele (Rene Lemire), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her son, Maurice, and sister, Berthe Pelletier, and nephew, Rene Mencke. Cremation has occurred. She will have a memorial in April 2016 and burial will take place in the Ste. Anne Cemetery in Falher. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Chapel of Memories in Peace River.
Donations can be made in her honour to the Smoky River Palliative Care Society, at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre in McLennan.
