Bela Szabo, also known as “Bill”, formerly of Lac Magloire, Alberta, passed away at his residence in Girouxville, Alberta on May 12, 2016 at 79 years of age. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucille Tanguay and loving father and grandfather of Joanne Deschambeault (grandchildren – James Ernest George Gour and Derrick Richard William Gour), Richard Szabo (grandchildren – Samantha Pollard, Tristen Cogbill-Purdy-Szabo and Dameion Cogbill-Purdy-Szabo) and Pamela Wilson (grandchild – Thea Wilson).

Bela is survived by his children, grandchildren and sister: Imrene Varnagy, Jozsefne Kamlar and Erzsebet Nosztrai of Hungary.

Bela immigrated to Canada in 1956, learning English and building a family and homestead in the Peace Country. Bela was a hard-working, honest, loving father, and husband who would do anything and everything to support his family.

Dad had an amazing sense of humour, loved storytelling and always had a positive outlook on life. God bless and “EDESAPAM BUCS” (In translation, Good bye my death father.)
