Antoine Andre Brochu [also known as Tony or Ti-Toine], a long-time resident of Girouxville, passed away on Sept. 24, 2020 in McLennan at the age of 85 years.

Antoine was born on Jan. 30, 1935 on the farm west of Girouxville. He spent most of his work life driving a Cat. He also had a successful cattle ranch west of Girouxville, land in Whitemud, and operated a custom baling operation.

Some of his hobbies in the early years included gymkhana and curling, and in the later years, cutting firewood, reading by the woodstove, cribbage games, and spending time with the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Antoine was predeceased by: his wife of 38 years, Jacqueline Roby [2000]; his siblings Aurelie Girouard [1994], Odelie Castonguay [2009], Liberia Belanger [2002], Rose Alma Soucy [2004], David [1926], Antoinette [1926], Thomas [1926], Charlemagne-Charlie [2015], Judith Fontaine [2012], and Francois-Frank [2020]; and his grandchildren, Robert Blanchette [1997], and Normand Blanchette [2003].

He is survived by: Mathilda Becher Brochu, his wife of 18 years; his sister, Brigitte Chauvin; his children, Nicole [Maurice] Blanchette, Richard [Maureen], Emile [Lea], and Marc [Alexandra]; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for the late Antoine Brochu were held Sept. 28, 2020 from the Paroisse Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish in Girouxville with Father Christian Ogbanna SDV officiating.

Interment followed at the Paroisse Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish cemetery in Girouxville.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Chapel of Memories Funeral Homes.
