January 14, 1925
– November 4, 2016
On Friday, November 4, 2016, surrounded by her beloved daughters, and in the arms of the angels, Agnes Boisvert stepped into eternity to join her husband Noel, her son Roger, and all of her loved ones who have gone before her.
Agnes was born January 14, 1925. She was raised in a large family in Pickardville, and throughout her life, she took a great interest in her siblings and their families. In 1944, she met Noel Boisvert who was a relief agent for the NAR in Pickardville, and later married him. They raised their four children in Wanham and Falher.
Agnes’ greatest success in life was being a mother. She was devoted to her family and taught her children the power of unconditional love through her words and deeds. Her gentle and caring ways were appreciated by the extended family and wide circle of friends. A creative individual, she often sewed her children’s clothing, worked on many different crafts, and perfected the art of letter writing.
Agnes always loved music, played the piano, sang in the church choir in Wanham, and filled our house with the recordings of Mario Lanza, Strauss, and Beethoven.
Agnes leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and sons in-law: Louise and Terry Woroniuk of Peace River, Emilie and Ken Bean of Grande Prairie, and Patricia and Patrick Drapeau of St. Albert. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jennifer (Gord) Kowaski, Kris (Amanda) Bean, Douglas (Sarah) Woroniuk, Trudy (Jason) McLennan, Joelle (Jeff) Wolinski, and special grandson Rick (Erin) Carter; her beloved great-grandchildren; sister Ila (Erik) Toivonen; brothers: John (Peggy) Measures and Charles (Florette) Measures; as well as numerous other family members.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Agnes’ “family” of caregivers at the Grande Prairie Care Centre who, especially in her last days, gave her loving care and attention.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 1:00pm, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.) with Father Remi Hebert C.Ss.R. presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Agnes’ name may be directed to Grande Prairie Care Centre – Recreation Department (9705 94 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 3A2).
