OBITUARY – Kathleen (Kaye) Mae Fontaine passes away at the age of 82

It is with saddened hearts that we share the passing of our mother Kathleen (Kaye) Mae Fontaine (nee Killeen) on Tuesday November 3rd, 2015 in McLennan, Alberta at the age of 82 years.
Mom was born on December 18, 1932 in Kinuso, Alberta.
She is survived by her children Orville (Bonnie) Mercer, Jim (Darlene) Cox; Shelley (Rubin) Arcand; Rey (Angele) Fontaine and Shirley Fontaine, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings Ken (Jean) Killeen, Lorne (Heather) Killeen and Roy (Margaret) Killeen; numerous nieces, nephews, extended and adopted family as well as too many friends to mention.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Reta Killeen, brothers Jack Killeen & Cloyde Killeen; sisters Reta Ericson & Ruth Strebchuk; her son Rodney Cox and her husband Raymond Fontaine.
Mom lived a full life; living it on her own terms.
She did many things throughout her life time, she touched so many people’s lives by being the “team mother” for the different teams that her children played on and with.
She frequently opened her home to families and new comers to the area. She was a member of the Royal Purple, a Sunday School teacher, a matron with the RCMP, a Commissionaire within the Peace country as well as continuing to contribute to those around her until the day she left us.
One of the most prevalent “causes” in her later years was the Lakeview Pioneer Society – Second Look Boutique.
Mom was on the executive, volunteering numerous hours to start the second hand store and to make sure it continued to thrive.
A private service was held on Friday November 6th, 2015 in Peace River, Alberta at the Chapel of Memories.
We would like to thank all of those who have sent their sympathies, prayers and condolences as they are truly appreciated.
