The Northwest Francophone Education Region No. 1 appoints Superintendent of Schools

St. Isidore, March 8, 2016 – The Northwest Francophone Education Region No. 1 (Conseil scolaire du Nord-Ouest-CSNO) is proud to announce the appointment of Madame Brigitte Kropielnicki as Superintendent of Schools, effective May 1, 2016.

Madame Kropielnicki holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Alberta. It is with almost 25 years of experience at the heart of Francophone Education that Madame Brigitte Kropielnicki will meet this new challenge entrusted to her. Madame Kropielnicki has spent most of her career with the CSNO,where she has successively held positions as teacher, principal and Deputy Superintendent.

From 2010 to 2012, Madame Kropielnicki worked as Director of the Réseau d’adaptation scolaire in Edmonton. In May, 2015 she assumed theroleofActingSuperintendent of Schools for the CSNO. Madame Kropielnicki is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the executive of the provincial ACFA (Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta). She is also well rooted and engaged in her local and regional community.

Following her appointment as Superintendent of Schools, Madame Kropielnicki stated: “Being appointed Superintendent of Schools of the CSNO is a great honour and allowsmeto continue working with a dedicated and dynamic team having the same goal as me: to offer quality francophone education and an unforgettable school experience for all our students. This position will also allow me to give back to a community that has given me much.”

Madame Chantal Monfette, Chair of the School Authority expressed that: “The Board is delighted to have appointed Mrs. Kropielnicki as Superintendent of Schools. We believe that her administrative experiences in schools and at the Réseau d’adaptation scolaire, as well as within our School Authority will be a great continuing asset for our schools and Authority. Further, her strong educational leadership, passionate commitment to francophone education and knowledge of our history will contribute to the vitality of the Francophone schoolcommunities.”
