Albertans are invited to nominate community leaders for recognition in the fifth annual Inspiration Awards.
The awards honour Albertans who are work across the province and demonstrate leadership in family and community safety, by building healthy relationships and preventing family violence, sexual violence, child sexual abuse and bullying.
“Violence in any form is unacceptable,” says Human Services Minister Irfan Sabir.
“Many individuals and organizations in our communities play an important role in stopping violence and inspiring action.
“The valuable work they do deserves to be honoured and celebrated.”
Nominations will be accepted in the categories, for the prevention of family violence, sexual violence, child abuse and bullying.
Awards will also be presented for lifetime achievement and for emerging excellence for young people 24 years of age and under.
Nominations will be accepted until September 16 at 4 p.m.
Recipients will be announced during Family Violence Prevention Month in November.
Nomination packages, with eligibility details and criteria, are available online on the website gov.ab.ca or by calling 780-422-5912 (toll-free in Alberta by first dialing 310-0000).
