The Smoky River Minor Hockey Association’s Atom team didn’t have any luck at the Atom ‘D’ provincial playoffs in Bentley during the weekend of March 16-18.
They came away with a 0-2-1 record.
Nonetheless, Coach Shawn Dubrule is proud of them.
“The kids played hard,” says Dubrule.
“The kids were overmatched by experience from the other teams. But they played hard and learned some valuable lessons.”
Fan support was great and the team represented the community well, he adds.
Dubrule was surprised and pleased that his team made it to the Bentley provincial championship.
This event was the last event of the season for the SRMHA Atom team.
