Northern Lakes College will host its Open House Roadshow 2018, at its Smoky River Campus in McLennan, from 11.30am to 1.pm on Wednesday May 2.
The May 2 Open House will provide members of the community the opportunity to learn from college faculty and staff what NLC has to offer, while also enjoying a free BBQ, wellness activities and a chance to win prizes.
NLC holds the Open House Roadshow BBQ at each campus community across its service region and those who attend the BBQ can participate in a community consultation questionnaire.
Through community consultation, NLC engages with stakeholders such as student groups, business and industry, government departments, the communities it serves as well as its academic and support staff.
These consultations inform the development of the Comprehensive Institutional Plan as stakeholder input shapes NLC strategies based on the Adult Learning System Principles of accessibility, affordability, quality, coordination and accountability.
In addition to its office in the MD building in Falher, Smoky River Adult Learning and Literacy also has an office and classroom at the NLC campus. S.R. Adult Learning will also be on-hand at the May 2 Open House to provide information regarding the courses, services and assistance they offer to the community.
