It was their special day on May 7, although it didn’t officially take place until the following day, but many ladies and families celebrated Mother’s Day at the Girouxville community hall.
“It’s a great way to spend time with your mother, including shopping and prizes,” says organizer Laura Leclerc.
This is the fifth year for the tea service.
It was a fundraiser for the Girouxville playground. Vendors paid $25 per table and the proceeds, totalling $475.25, will go towards new playground equipment for the community.
Twenty-one merchants participated, featuring skin care products, jewelry, hand-made journals, hanging ornaments, gourment products and others.
A brunch and a lunch were also served by volunteers. The proceeds from these meals are part of the proceeds.
To date, Leclerc has raised $10,000. She wants to get some new playground equipment installed this summer.
Leclerc is seeking volunteers to sit on a committee for improvement projects. Call Estelle Girard at the village office at (780) 323-4270 if you are interested.
