The Chalifouxs from Driftpile First Nation led the students and teachers in a round dance outside Georges P. Vanier in the afternoon of June 21, as part of National Indigenous Peoples Day. Two of the dancers, Kirby Chalifoux and Nancy Chalifoux, are above leading the others. The weather was warm, but that didn’t diminish the event.Pictured above is Dustin Chalifoux performing his men’s fancy dance. Following the dancing demonstrations, students participated in activities in the main gym as well as on the field out back of the school.
