Members of the public works department for the M.D. of Smoky River No. 130 were to hold a meeting with Big Lakes County, the M.D. of Greenview and Alberta Transportation this week, regarding the replacement of the old High Prairie bridge.

They were to discuss the issue at the AAMD&C meeting in Edmonton. The bridge is located on Aldridge Road.

Kevin Cymbaluk, the director of operations for the M.D., discussed this as part of his report to council during their meeting on Nov. 8.

Cymbaluk also noted that public works continues to work on lift station designs for Guy and Jean Cote. They should be finished before the end of the year.

In other news, the M.D.’s gravel program was completed by Nov. 1, and work on the Smoky River Emergency Services building is nearly complete, with just a few minor deficiencies to resolve.

Also, public works is getting ready to issue requests for tenders for equipment and tools.
