Power line extension approved
Council approved a power line extension for the property of Doug and Amy Farney, located at SE 26-76-19-W5M, southeast of McLennan.
Request for Resolution made by CUPW
Council approved a resolution which requests municipal government input into a Canada Post review.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers made the request.
Club Alouette gets letter of support
Council approved a motion to provide a letter of support to the Club Alouette.
The club is seeking funding under the Alberta Government’s Community Facility Enhancement Program, to replace flooring in their building.
M.D. insurance policy to cover Watino River Boat Association
Council approved the Watino River Boat Association’s request to allow that organization to be added to the M.D.’s insurance policy.
Kevin Cymbaluk’s report
Kevin Cymbaluk, the director of operations for the M.D., gave his report to council.
Cymbaluk requested an increase in gravel crushing. Council approved an increase of 100,000 tonnes of three-quarter-inch gravel for 2016. The M.D. sources its gravel with the Anderson Gravel Pit.
Cymbaluk noted that the upgrade of Township Road 794 east of Highway 2 has been completed. One mile of the road was completed in July, after approximately three weeks of work.
He also noted that work on Range Road 203 south of Highway 679 started on July 13 and should be finished by the end of the month. The work falls under an MSI-approved grant.

In other news, council has asked administration to come up with a policy, to identify market (or arterial) roads for consideration of a two-year gravelling program.
