The M.D. of Smoky River No. 130 is monitoring weed growth in the region, due to the warm weather.

Normand Boulet, the ag fieldman for the M.D., is talking to farmers to ensure they get them under control quickly.

The M.D.’s summer staff has been hired and they are training continuously.

Alberta Agriculture plans to do an audit the agriculture service board programs, which the M.D. is part of. The time and date will be announced.

Boulet also notes that Growing Forward II has some grants available to improve water systems for livestock operations and other tasks.
