M.D. council approves mutual aid agreement for emergency management

During their meeting on Sept. 19, the council for the M.D. of Smoky River No. 130 approved the Central Peace/Smoky River Regional Emergency Management Mutual Aid Agreement.
Besides the M.D., the Town of Falher, Town of McLennan, Village of Donnelly, Village of Girouxville, Birch Hills Country, M.D. of Spirit River, Saddle Hills Country, the Town of Spirit River and the Village of Rycroft are part of the agreement.
Lease agreement reached for partial road closure
Council approved a lease agreement with Auguste and Barbara Arsenault for a partial road closure.
The M.D. entered into a 99-year agreement for a closed portion of road adjacent to the east boundary of NE 25-74-21-W5M.
Subdivision applications approved
Council approved two subdivision applications.
The first is for SW 22-74-23-W5M, located in Whitemud, for DNL Forgie Farms Ltd., for a future residential development.
The second is for NW 35-75-23-W5M, also located in Whitemud, for Brandon Papineau, for residential development.

Power line extensions and a salvage operation are approved
Council approved a power line extension for Patrick Lepage, for NE 9-80-20-W5M located east of Lac Magloire. Council also approved a power line extension for Marc St. Andre, NW 23-75-22-W5M, located in Whitemud.
Council also approved power line salvage for CNRL, located at SW 19-79-22-W5M, north of Girouxville, to remove four power poles and a transformer.
The next M.D. council meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 12.
