Council Code of Conduct Bylaw
Council passed the Council Code of Conduct Bylaw in accordance to the new Municipal Government Act.
It is mandatory for all municipalities to have the Code of Conduct Bylaw in place by July 23, 2018.

MMSA – Planning & Development 101 Seminar
Council approved sending two members of Council and the CAO to the Planning and Development Seminar in Peace River on May 11.

Smoky River Transportation
Council approved a $3,200 request to support operational costs of Smoky River Transportation’s bus and van.

St. John the Baptist Cathedral Parish
An agreement for grass cutting at the Catholic Cemetery, submitted by St. John the Baptist Cathedral Parish, has been reviewed by Council and Council believes that the full cost of this service should not be borne by McLennan taxpayers. Therefore, to assist the Town with the cost of grass cutting, Council has asked that the Parish provide $200 for each plot the Catholic Church sells at the cemetery.

Sylvain & Company
Council approved the 2017, draft audited financial statements for the Town of McLennan.

Town of McLennan Spring Clean Up
The date for the annual spring clean for this year is from May 26 to June 3. McLennan’s spring clean up generally takes place the week prior to the May long weekend, but due to the amount of snow still on the ground, Council has decided to schedule the clean up for later in May.

ATCO Electric Street Light Replacement
Council approved an estimated cost of $40,045.14 from ATCO Electric for work required on streetlights. ATCO identified four light poles and lights, two streetlight davits and three bases that need to be changed.

Asset Management Plan
A motion of Council was approved to move forward with the Asset Management Project and award the contract to Beairsto and Associates Engineering Ltd. The cost of this project is grant funded.
