The Smoky River Manatees Swim Club has its full roster of registrants for 2016 and cannot take any more.
“We have quite a few new members this year,” says coach Natasha Smit.
“I want to build on the abilities of the kids. I want to help them build themselves in the sport. Not everyone is competitive, but they like the sport.”
They are divided into two groups, junior and advanced.
The Manatees use the Falher Regional Pool four days per week, Monday through Thursday.
They will have swim meets every weekend from the end of May into August. Some of them are eager to go to provincials this year, she adds.
Smit may have an assistant coach to work with her. Details will be released later.
This is Smit’s second year as the coach.
