Christmas shoppers were able to get an early to start on the season, during the Remembrance Day long weekend.
Laura Leclerc hosted her annual Christmas show and sale at the Girouxville community hall on Nov. 12. Approximattely 22 vendors were at the event, and their table fees will go to playground improvements in Girouxville.
“I’m pleased with the turnout,” says Leclerc. “We’ve had good support from local people coming to shop.”
Jacinthe Gervais, owner of Auntie J’s Woodworking in Donnelly, was one of the merchants at the event. She had a number of her wares for sale, including reindeer and owl figurines.
Also on hand was Loretta Beaver, author of the ‘White Buffalo (New Beginnings Series). The three books in the series she had for sale include ‘Passionate Alliance’, ‘Raven and the Golden Eagle’. and ‘Dream Dancer’. A fourth book, ‘Shadowns and Illusions’, will be released in the near future.
The concession stand was open, and the rental fee will also go towards the playground improvements as well.
Spiritual Wellness Show
Over at Smoky Lanes Bowling, a spiritual wellness fair was held. Several merchants from the region participated.
This event separate from Leclerc’s event and proceeds will go to the operations of the bowling alley.
